Nottingham House c.2011

Built by Payne & Payne Custom Builders, Inc. of Chardon, Ohio, this new conventionally framed home features a smattering of integrated traditional timberwork designed and joined by The Sweetgrass Joinery Co. The back screened-in porch is a full timber-framework in western red cedar and includes a black-cherry flitch-sawn collar harvested from the clearing of the house site. Other cedar timberwork includes the structural support for the front porch, interior loft support timber, and a hand-carved mantle over the fireplace.
