Almost Heaven…
Blessings come in many forms, and this one happens to be in the shape of a simple little cabin next to a creek amongst the whippoorwills and sycamore trees in northern West Virginia.
This 24′ x 28′ high-post cape framework was raised by hand with a gathering of family and friends on a hot & muggy summer’s solstice. Long-awaited and long-planned for, this cabin will become a seasonal gathering place for many generations.
Although the pattern of the framework is unadorned and straight-forward, it represents a very vernacular form and reveals the beauty of tradition through its simplicity.
