Red Sled Kitchen

This 18′ x 25′ addition is framed entirely in Eastern White Pine, with the exception of a black cherry straining beam.  The new addition will serve as a kitchen expansion and new dining room for the farmhouse on a certified organic vegetable farm in Mesopotamia, Ohio.  The owners wanted something simple, functional, but with the potential for lots of windows and light colors.  The frame was raised by hand with the help of four Amish brothers, all carpenters.  We started about 9am and were finished before lunch.
